Favorite Patterns: C/Overalls
Students can use the pattern of their choice when they attend our November 2025 Coveralls, Overalls, and Boilersuit class. Below are some patterns that Caroline has experience with. If you’re collecting ideas, check out the list on The Fold Line — you can shop patterns there, but it’s also a great place to research your options.
There is also some great info over at Threadloop, and you may enjoy listening to this podcast episode from 2024, all about jumpsuits & overalls.
After saying I would never make overalls, I tried out two patterns this summer and can recommend both.
Twig & Tale Hedgerow Dungarees by Accacia (Left, orange)
Sewn With Grit Heritage Overalls in process by Caroline (right, denim)
If you’re looking for a mostly-traditional overalls pattern with some cool features, I can say I’ve been wearing my Heritage Overalls a lot. Unlike Caroline, I didn’t do the front bib pocket. The truth is I need my overalls pocket to be able to hold a petite cat, so until I draft that, I’m bib-pocket-less.
The Blanca Flightsuit and Jenny Overalls from Closet Core patterns are perennial favorites. At time of writing this, I have one paper copy of the Jenny pattern in stock. Send me a note if you are interested.
And then a few more that would also make good choices. Patterns from French Navy; Merchant & Mills; Sew House 7; and a soon-to-be-released pattern from Pauline Alice.
